What can a patient expect when treating with a Chiropractor during my first visit?

Our goal is to work together as a team to get you maximum medical improvement in improving your function. In order to determine which chiropractic technique and treatment is right for you, our chiropractors dedicate the initial evaluation to dig deep into your condition, medical history, previous treatment, diagnostic tests and, most of all, your goals. This complete initial exam allows our providers to customize a unique treatment plan catered specifically for you and your needs. Take this time to ask any questions you may have as we want you to have a complete understanding of your treatment plan. Once we agree on your customized therapeutic program we are ready to take on the next steps.

How long until I feel results with a Chiropractor?

Our patients typically feel relief during their initial visit.  Although a reduction in pain is not an indication if the condition is gone, Relief is the first phase to occur. As the chiropractor adjusts and manipulates your spine and joints, many feel a sense of relief as their joints are realigned and circulation is restored. A number of our patients admit to experiencing increased range of motion after their first visit, and increased function as they continue their care. The journey towards pain relief is dependent on the severity condition and active motivation towards your goals. To learn more about what causes pain, click here.

DAVID BARRETT

DR. DAVID BARRETT III

D.C. Board Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician

At Denville Medical & Sports Rehabilitation Center we have medical doctors, chiropractors, podiatrists and physical therapists on hand to ensure you receive the best care. Our patients are co-treated by a team of doctors that collaborated to develop an individualized treatment plan and to chart progress. Each professional brings a unique perspective and experience to the table, which is an invaluable patient resource.

“I arrived at this concept by working with high-level athletes. Olympians, for example, almost always have a team of medical professionals to turn to throughout their training”.

“When I opened this practice, my intention was to bring multi-discipline care to everyone. Whether they’re sick, an injured athlete, a weekend warrior who “over did it” on a home project or even someone who was injured in an auto accident”.

“Due to the multi-faceted nature of muscular skeletal injuries, it’s rare for a patient to require care from just one specialist. Usually this means many office visits at dispersed locations. A multidisciplinary center differs in that it expedites treatment in an effective and convenient way by bringing a variety of professionals together under one roof. At the Denville Medical & Sports Rehabilitation Center we have medical doctors, chiropractors, podiatrists and physical therapists on-hand to ensure you receive the best care. DAVID SPRIET

DR. DAVID SPRIET

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Spriet has a B.S in Biology from Bloomfield College and is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College in Old Brookville, NY. He has served as an on site chiropractor for several Health and Fitness Clubs and was previously the staff chiropractor for the Mendham Health & Racquet Club where he was also the trainer for the tennis pros at the First Union Tennis Classic.

Dr. Spriet’s specialty is in correcting chronic recurring neck, back, or extremity pain or injuries. This is especially important for those who feel they have “tried everything.” Dr. Spriet has spent many years studying the fields of static (postural) and dynamic (locomotor) problems that affect the human skeletal structure. Quite often, he can find the weak link that has been overlooked. He does this by analyzing the human frame as a whole. Commonly, nutritional deficits or dietary problems, which are impeding the healing process, are addressed. Treatment then involves advanced specific exercises to retrain the entire system to function properly. The patient can then maintain this state with simple home exercises for strength and stability, and these are very portable into a health club.

Dr. Spriet has worked with amateur and professional athletes, as well as anyone wishing lasting correction, to achieve their health care goals. Patients must not be looked at as just a bad back or neck, in isolation from the rest of the body. They are dynamic organisms, with an often complex variety of factors that have led to a breakdown somewhere in the system. To properly analyze these factors and employ a targeted approach at fixing the person, not just the symptom, is the focus of Dr. Spriet’s approach.

Chiropractic care is best coupled with Physical Therapy and Acupuncture, for many conditions. Chiropractors help increase joint mobility and increase nerve function, while Physical Therapists help increase flexibility and lymph flow while building strong muscles to maintain proper structure and Acupuncturists reduce physical and mental stress by stimulating nerve function.
